Receiving a bulk delivery of 5,000 branded notebooks is exciting, but it can quickly turn into a nightmare if you discover defects after distributing them to clients. Here is the exact checklist our production team uses to ensure zero defects.
1. Colour Match Verification
Does the Pantone colour of the cover match the approved digital proof? We check this under standard D50 lighting conditions to ensure the brand Blue is your brand Blue, not a shade darker.
2. Logo Alignment and Clarity
Is the logo centered? Is it straight? For debossed logos, we check that the impression is deep and even. For printed logos, we check for crisp edges and no smudging.
3. Binding Integrity
Open the notebook to the middle. Does it lay flat? Pull gently on the pages. The binding should be tight and secure. No loose pages are acceptable in a premium product.
4. Paper Quality Check
Run your hand over the page. It should feel smooth. Check for any dirt specks or manufacturing debris embedded in the paper pulp. We also verify the GSM weight matches the specification.
5. Accessory Functionality
Test the elastic closure band – it should be taut but not impossible to stretch. Check the ribbon marker is securely attached. If there's a pen loop, ensure a standard pen fits snugly.
6. Packaging Condition
Are the boxes crushed? Is the shrink wrap intact? Damaged packaging can damage the product inside during transit. We ensure every carton is double-walled and properly sealed.
7. Quantity Count
It sounds simple, but ensuring you received exactly what you ordered is vital. We use weight-based counting scales for high accuracy on large orders of pens and small items.
Why This Matters
Your brand reputation is on the line. A faulty pen that leaks in a client's pocket or a notebook that falls apart reflects poorly on your company. At BritStationery Works, we perform these checks before the goods leave our factory, so you never have to worry.
